caffeinated randomness: fall time fun! : )

Today I feel like just having fun and posting truly random, goofy stuff. Also (and on a more honest note), I have a bit of writers block! : ) I can't think of anything seriously profound to write, so I am not going to try. Instead, I hopped my oatmeal brained self on over to blog things to see what fun quiz I could take. In honor of everything wonderful that is fall … I took the quiz “what fall treat are you?” Here’s my result…

You Are Pumpkin Cheesecake

You are sweet and smooth. You charm people without even trying to, and you leave a lasting impression.
You seem rich and sophisticated yet down to earth. Most people feel immediately comfortable around you.
With each new season, you look forward to revamping yourself and upgrading your style. And autumn is no exception.
You love to step out of your house in a nice new coat and scarf. Maybe read a new book. Try a new restaurant. It's all about change.

This makes me want to laugh a little bit. I am smooth?? For real?? Ha-ha Having a lasting impression on people can mean a lot of things. Is it a good impression, or a bad one? I hope that the impression left with folks is that I am a girl who is 100% in love and sold out for Jesus.

Sophisticated? Ummm – yea. right! My best friend Heather can tell you that I am NOT sophisticated! The next phrase definitely is a more accurate description … down to earth. Yes. That’s me. I also hope that people are comfortable around me. : )

The last part is pretty true. I do love to buy new fall clothes (just went to Old Navy last night, actually!) and I love love love scarves and new coats (pea coats preferably). I also love to read and can’t find books fast enough to keep me satisfied. My pastor has been doing a marvelous job keeping my reading self occupied. My husband told him how much I love to read anything and everything to do with Christianity. Next thing you know Pastor Dave is giving me a book, then another, and another! I am in reading heaven right now people!! I have to strongly recommend Hudson Taylor’s Spiritual Secret to one and all!! I learned so much from this biography and don’t have enough time or room to tell you how much this helped my spiritual growth. Just go check it out for yourselves!!

As for change … do I love it? Not exactly. But, change is necessary to the Christian Pilgrim. We cannot stay where we are and continue on our journey with Christ. He faithfully calls us ever forward as we walk closer to him. If we’re still here on earth (and if you’re ready this you ARE) then we still have work to do and room to grow. We must continue down the path and be willing to change if we desire to serve the Lord. The goal should be to grow more like Christ as each day passes. This absolutely requires change!

"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen."
2 Peter 3:18

Happy Friday and don’t forget to visit Andrea with some more caffeinated randomness! : )

:) I think fall clothes are the best...the colors, the cuteness, the warmness :) And I adore scarfs too.

I have found that blogthings either hits it right on or not at all :) But it is funny to find out.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Great post. I love how you brought it all back around to Jesus! Oh that we would all aggressively pursue personal holiness and practical righteousness by growing in His grace and knowledge.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I always love to hear from you. Thanks for praying for my ministry and Bible study. God is so good. I am praying for you and God's perfect plan for your life. Blessings. jean

I just found the quiz and took it too. Apparently, I'm pumpkin bread...

You Are Pumpkin Bread

"You are considerate and generous. Your heart warms when you're able to do something unexpectedly nice for someone else.
You know it can be a cold world out there, and you have plenty of happiness to spread around.

You try to give as much as possible every day, and you know that small acts of kindness can often mean the much.
Whether you're being a good listener or sharing a slice of your pumpkin bread, people feel lucky to be able to count on you."

I'll ponder this...
