Set our hearts on Pilgrimage...

“Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage."
Psalm 84:5

Last night marked the beginning of a journey. I started a Bible Study for the High School girls in our Youth Group. I am so excited about this and I am looking forward to seeing what God is going to do with us during the next 6 weeks!

We are doing a Beth Moore study (I love me some Beth) called “Stepping UP.” This study looks like it’s going to be amazing. It goes through 15 Psalms that the Israelites sang on their journey to the temple in Jerusalem: Psalms 120-134. They are called the Psalms of Ascent because they would ascend the steps of the temple (15 steps by the way) to get to the court of the Israelites. The was a journey to grow closer to God and, with each step up, grow closer to the foot of the throne.

My hope and prayer for this study is that each of us would grow closer and closer to our Father God as we learn more about him weekly. It is also my hope that we would grow in our prayer lives. I passed out prayer journals to everyone and we all have a prayer partner that we are to uphold throughout the week. I am really expecting wonderful growth to come out of our time alone with the Lord.

Will you please pray for our small group? Will you pray that I, as a leader, would be humble and easily used by God? Please pray for each of the girls attending – that we would all have open hearts to receive what the Lord wants to teach us. Pray that we would grow closer to God and that we truly would set our hearts on pilgrimage with Jesus. We are all Pilgrims on this journey of life … let us be Christ’s Pilgrims!

Oh how exciting! I did this study on my own when it first came out. It was wonderful. I will be praying for you and the girls. May God give you His word to share and may the girls be receptive in hearing.

What an awesome opportunity for you to lead the future women of your church into a closer more intimate walk with their Heavenly Father. I will pray. May the Lord draw all involved closer to Him.

Hey Lauren!

Praise God, for choosing to be obedient in this area, of leading this study.

That sounds like an intense, and challenging study. I'm sure that these women will be blessed by your teaching, as you submit to our Father.

Continue to ask Him to give you the words to say, and fill you with His Spirit.

Onward Christian Soldier!

Lauren, I have been doing this study personally and I can testify IT. IS. LIFE-CHANGING. It's awesome.

I also know the trials and struggles and joys that come with HS girls. You & your group are in my prayers. May the Lord speak to them through you and these resources and most importantly, His Word.
