Caffeinated Randomness: Hair... to cut, or not to cut?

Happy Friday!!! Is anyone else just ecstatic that it's finally time for the weekend?? This has been a busy week for me at work. I've been training my replacement all week and wrapping up loose ends so that I don't leave any projects half done for her. She is super sweet too, and I'm sure she's going to be awesome! : )

So, on to the debate. I've been thinking about cutting my hair for awhile now. It takes me forever to make a decision and then follow through with it. My hair is kind of a big deal to me ... which is why I've had the same hairstyle for about 5 years now... if you look at my profile picture that's pretty much it! I'm getting kind of sick of it - I think I'm finally ready for a change. I think. I always look at Nicole Kidman and recently Amy Adams for hairstyles because people tell me I look like Nicole Kidman a lot. I personally don't see it, but I'll take it! She's one of my favorite actresses. For my wild and crazy bachelorette party me and my gals went out for Italian and then to see "Bewitched" in the theaters. All my bridesmaids said that Nicole's character Isabelle was just like me. Clothes wise, she pretty much was. It was uncanny that the style was almost exactly mine! So, I think I might want that hairstyle now. I am still debating - here are some stills from the movie ...

So, friends, what do you think? Yay or nay? Oh, and btw... that picture w/ the pink cardigan and hat? I wear a white collared shirt w/ the same pink cardigan often... too funny! Wish I had the hat - super cute! : )

I love your hair long! I wish I could have long hair like yours, but it doesn't work on me. I always go back and forth between chin length and shoulder length. It is crazy...get it cut, grow it out :)
Whatever you choose it will look fabulous.
Blessings,
Amy

I say keep your long hair until baby boy comes, then you really will have zero time to do your hair...that would be a good time for a cut! :)

Funny...I was thinking almost exactly when V suggested. And then, on the other hand...maybe you'd enjoy having him curl his sleepy baby boy fingers into your long hair as he cuddles to sleep. According to the picture it doesn't look like a length change, per se. Perm? I like the pink cardigan pic best.

I am always so scared of giving hair advice. Might I just say...I LOVE your long hair, it looks so healthy and gorgeous!

Have a great weekend.

I too am a fan of the long hair & yours is gorgeous. I am a bit jealous because since I got mine cut back in 94..I haven't had it long since. I miss it.
My motto now is hair grows back so if it isn't your favorite style it won't take long to grow it out.
i think you are much prettier than Nicole. :) For real. Love the hat picture. It is adorable.

So nice to "meet" you :)

Oh and I LOVE your hair - my vote is for keeping it long :)

I always end up regretting when I cut my hair, but I still say go for it! It grows back...and it will look cute : )

I say Go for it!! Hair will always grow back and sometimes it is such fun to experiment with different hair styles!

I have to say I have always loved, loved, loved Nicole Kidman's hair. Especially when it is short.
I will confess...I have coveted her hair. ;) And her style.

Whew. I feel better now.

Also I am so very, very excited the weekend is here!

I love your blog :)

I think you should cut your hair! It's so fun to make changes!

PS- I'm really excited to read more about our adoption. We hope to adopt some day... I'm always inspired by others' stories!

I'm always changing up my 'do. First I chop it off, then I grow it out, then I chop it off again. I'm back to growing it out a bit again! I used to be really hesitant about cutting my hair, and I have had few disasters, but overall my philosophy about hair is to have fun with it! So I say go for it - you can always grow it out if you don't like it!

I say go for it!!!!! It will be nice to have a change after five years. I think you will look great with it shorter.

I think you would look adorable, no matter what you choose for your hairstyle! :)

IDK I have stringy thin hair, so it never looks good long. And as soon as I had Ellie I couldn't handle spit up in the ends of it anymore. So you may want it short when Tucker gets here anyway. Which makes me so excited for you that you will soon be a mama!

You are beautiful no matter what you do with your hair :-) I am so excited that you will be a busy mommy soon!
I just grew my hair out again, so I am no help with hair :-/

Looking at these pictures and then at your profile picture...I think you would look good with a cut that was layered up in theback andalmost like a pageboy in the front...I'm not sure what that look is called, but its popular right now...but your faceshape would certainly carry it. Its always exciting thinking about change.

Go for it! I am like you & keep the same hairstyle forever! Mine was pretty long for many years. When I cut it (still long, but shorter than it had been), I LOVED it (& am going on year #4 with it now!!) Looking forward to pictures if you do it!

My hairstyle is big for me as well! I say go for it because as a fellow Aussie to Nicole Kidman, how could I say no! :) No really, its a great hairstyle & I think it would suit you!

Happy caffeine!

Give your hair to locks of love. Its the best and then just grow it out and give it away in another two or so years. :-D

definitely do it. New hairstyles have a way of making you feel fresh and free again. And, on the off-chance you may not like it, then you can always grow it back :)

I had a perfect BOB as my hair is super straight. Changed hair stylists and opted for a new cut on Friday....my mission now is to grow it out to all one length again. HAIR is so personal, so be sure you want to fuss with a new style before you go short. Love your blog!

I love your long hair!! I think once you are past your teen years and you cut your hair, you will never grow it out again, at least not very long anyways. That is what it seems has been the experience of most women that I know. There is just something about being able to stand the in between stages of short to long that we put up with when we are so young that we refuse to do when we become adults. LOL But I think you would be beautiful no matter what length your hair is! :)

Your hair is beautiful, leave it. I like long hair though. You are still young. I look at it this way I have a good ten years to have long hair and then I think it looks silly at a certain age. Then I will have shorter hair a long time. Regardless it will look pretty any way you do it.
