CR: Your Life on the Balance Beam...

Last summer I read Crazy Love by Francis Chan... and I LOVED IT! Not in a good  "I feel warm and fuzzy and so happy about life" kind of way... but in a "wow, you just challenged my entire way of life" kind of way. If you haven't read it get in your car RIGHT NOW and drive to your nearest bookstore ... it's a must.

Anyway, that was my first encounter with Francis Chan and so I naturally had to google him. What I found was a slew of youtube videos of his sermons and guest speaking gigs. I spend hours sometimes just listening to him teaching how to live this life as a Christian.... not in an "American Christian" kind of way... but in a "I read the Bible and I'm doing all I can to live by THE BOOK" kind of way. It's challenging and I don't live up to it. But I want to!

One of my favorite clips is the one I've included below. If you dare, watch it and think about your routine... what would your life look like on the balance beam?

...I'm hoping to add some crazy moves to my routine...

I am a HUGE fan of Francis Chan and "Crazy Love"!! In fact, God really used that book specifically in calling us to adoption! It really changed the way we live our life...such an amazing book...definitely a MUST READ!!

I just finished reading that book too and it was amazing. He stepped on my toes and plucked my heart so many times in that book. It was a great challenging book to read. I love that clip too.

Both of his books are so powerful to me. He is definitely one of the most challenging author/speaker/pastors out there.

I will have to watch this clip...and be challenged :)

Francis used to be the main pastor at a local church in my town (he just recently made the decision to leave for other ministries) and he is fantastic! That book is next on my reading list.

Hi Lauren, I have never heard of this man before. I loved the video! I am going to look for his books and see if I can get his podcasts.... Thanks for posting about him!

Sweet sis in Jesus! Thank you for posting this video. I went straight over to you tube and watched a bunch of his other videos. His testimony about his tranformation spoke to me. I went ahead and put this video on my own blog. I felt lame even putting my own words with it. He says it all. I am in the process of my own very real life changing experience and this is exactly what I needed.

Thanks for following me! The ironic thing is - I clicked on your link from UG&OC and thought "I like this blog! I like this layout! I think I should be friends with this blogger!" heehee!

I have Crazy Love. I started reading it a while back and it was very good and thought provoking and challenging. I am going to have to dig it up again and start reading it again.

I must be living under a rock because I have never heard of him (perhaps it has more to do with having a 3 year old, an infant, and being completely sleep deprived) but I watched the video and wow...talk about stepping on toes! I'm going to do some serious praying. Wonder what "crazy" plan God has for us next....

I read Crazy Love last summer too. It is great!
I'm reading Radical by David Platt right now-it reminds me of Crazy Love and I highly recommend it.
