{we are the lucky ones...}

I really can't think of anything to blog about except my son! haha I guess that's normal since he is consuming my days and nights and has totally filled every part of my heart with more joy and love than I could have possibly imagined. I know there will be tough days ahead as parenthood is never easy, but right now all I can think is, "I never understood how AMAZING motherhood is!" I have never felt so much overflowing joy, love, and contentment in my life!! God has been so good to us!

A few people have said "Tucker hit the jackpot," or "that boy has no idea how lucky he is..." but they are SO wrong! WE are the lucky ones... and it isn't luck... it's a BLESSING FROM HEAVEN! We hit the jackpot with this little boy and we are so incredibly blessed. It's all I can do not to cry with joy when I look at him. I actually  miss him when he's napping (like right now...) I can't wait for him to wake up just so I can be with him!

People have said that we rescued him and are giving him a life he never would have had... but the truth is that he is rescuing us. He is giving us a life that we had begun to think wasn't possible. He is giving us SO much more than we have ever dreamed of...

I love reading your posts about Tucker! Your family is just so precious, brought together and always planned by God! I read once that adoption is God's plan B and I just didn't agree with that at all. I truly believe God doesn't need a plan B. He is God and He is sovereign and there is no doubt in my mind that He always planned for you to be Tucker's parents.

Your post reminded me of what my mom told me that a lady said to her when I was first adopted. The lady told her it was "so big of her" to adopt me. Needless to say, that did not go over well with my Mom! Ha!

LOVE THIS POST! Gray and I feel this way every time someone says that A is so lucky. I always say really? lucky enough to end up in an orphanage, that doesn't sound like luck to me! We are the ones that are lucky enough to get to parent him and love him! Tucker is TOO CUTE!

GREAT perspective ... of you blessing him and you rescuing him. YES, he has blessed you, and he has rescued you from the childless life that you were living.

Isn't God's plan beautiful ... you can bless each other, and you can rescue each other.

Praising Jesus with you!

Hmmm ... interesting thoughts from "Kristin", your first commenter.

I agree, that God doesn't need a "Plan B".

However, I do not agree that it was his "plan" for any child to have the need to be adopted. I believe that God's original plan would have been for children to be raised by their biological parents.

But, because of sin, God's original plan does not always come to pass.

Therefore, God allowed sin ... and thus allowed children to have to be removed from their families of origin ... and therefore has been able to bless both the child and the adoptive families through the adoption process.

Because God has the power to "work all things together for the good of those that love him", He has created beautiful families through the adoption process.

Just my thoughts ...

I cant' even begin to tell you how happy I am for you! I haven't know you that long- but honestly, this adoption process, and your positive attutide and patience have really blessed me. Clearly God is working in every aspect of your family. Watching your face, while you watched that video from Ethiopia said it all. I cried. You are going to be an INCREDIBLE mother.

Your son is absolutely beautiful - his eyes are amazing! We adopted a little boy 10 months ago (also with huge, sparkling eyes). We heard so many of the same comments, how "lucky" he was. I totally agree with you - we are the ones who are blessed by him. He just makes our day with his smile. Your son is precious - you are blessing each other!! :)
