{on my heart this morning...}

"Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?"  Ezekiel 18:23 NIV

‎* just for clarification: as my sweet husband said and I agree: "Not that I am unhappy that justice has been served in one way or another! I just think the notion of celebrating death (the result of sin) is fleeting at best. Are we celebrating justice and an increased possibility of freedom, or the death of an individual?"

... I am thankful for our military, thankful for justice, thankful for the peace and closure this brings to many many hurting families. I do, however, mourn that another soul is lost for eternity... for that I do not celebrate.

Amen. It's one thing to feel a sense of closure or relief, but the celebrating last night on TV was nauseating.

I agree, I am conflicted on how to feel. I am proud of the Armed Forces out there defending us. They give so much for us. That's what I am thinking about.

Amen. I must say I'm very sad. As a Christian I am sad today rather than happy. Who are we to rejoice in the death of an unsaved child of God?!

Amen. I feel the same way. Despite the fact he had inspired many evil things in his lifetime, much innocent blood was shed in order to take his life as well. Can you imagine what life would be like if we all (as Christians) celebrated that much when a soul accepts Christ? Wow.

Thanks for sharing.

We don't watch t.v., so I had no idea about the "celebrating". So sad.

For me, I am relieved that he will do no more evil in this world. My son served 4.5 years in Iraq. My son lost 3 friends in battle. My heart grieves for all of the families that have lost loved ones (Americans and Iraqis) because of the evil.

This echoes what's on my heart as well. I was starting to think I was the only one who felt this way. Thankful for your tender heart today!

I was pondering the same things this morning while I was walking and praying. A lot of different emotions, for sure. It is always sad when someone doesn't know the Lord.

I totally agree. I was thinking that I am just not sure how I feel about it. Who determines in what circumstance it is okay to kill people, no matter how horrible they are? I'm just not sure.
